What Happened To Minnie Fay Last Night?

At HELLO DOLLY last night, while Minnie Fay was talking to the audience (right before Irene shows up and they go in the shop), she repeated a line two or three times and then just stood there, waiting for something it seemed. She then said “Excuse me” and walked off the stage. She was gone for maybe 20 seconds at most but it was very awkward. Then she came back on and picked up where she left off and everything went smoothly from there. Did I miss something that happened to make her leave the stage?

I have heard.  I can't wait for my revisit.  My friend told me that the biggest difference he notices now after months of Bernadette is how funny the show can really be.  I can't wait to see that dinner scene rock the theater the way it used too.

I can't wait!  Lets hope some of the rumors about the show being filmed turn out to be true.  Someone really needs to capture what goes on between her and that audience in that theater.  Truly glorious.  I was even of the opinion that the cast album should have been a live recording.

It was filmed back in January for archival purposes - as most Broadway shows are.

Absolutely - we all want the show to be filmed and come out on dvd - that's a given.

It's just not going to happen.

The first time I saw it when Bernadette first joined Molly went up on that speech as well! Weird.....

Saw it with Amanda LaMotte and she was perfect. Much preferred her.

There is absolutely many reasons for folks to speculate that this production is being filmed.  Not only does it star a international superstar .  But the fact that she came back to it for such a limited time makes some of us hopeful.   And as it has been said before ; she is very savy about getting her concerts captured.  Yes a concert is not the same thing as a broadway musical.  But some musicals have been filmed lately.. She Loves Me, Bandstand, etc...   Nothing bad can come of this 54 year old property being filmed.  And there is money to be made.  So I don't know if it will happen.. but I hope so.  I really hope so.
