I beg to disagree. I saw Hamilton three times in the first two years for regular box office prices...was able to get tickets, thought admittedly not easily. It has been absolutely impossible to get non-premium, non-extortionate resale tickets to it in a long time, harder than in the first two years.
Even more ridiculous are the prices the show is getting on the road, both via premium seats and resales. Never in my wildest imagination would I have expected a touring show to command the prices it is getting everywhere.
Fatigue may have set in for you, but not for the rest of the country.
Re the award itself, I can't help thinking that it would have more 'validity' if they had announced a few years ago that they were going to occasionally recognize works of art.

Not sure what method you’re using, but Hamilton NY has moved to Verified Fan. So you sign up a few days before the ticket release, and then you can easily get seats on release day. I buy the max number every time they go on sale, because I always have friends visiting NYC who want to go. I’ve bought at least 12 face value, regular priced tickets in the last year with very little effort.

Tell me about it. Somehow all the art has been sucked out of this show and what is left is an unstoppable marketing money-making machine that rolls over absolutely everything in its path. It's so boring"
^ I didn't say I had a hard time getting tickets. That was the person who quoted my own comment. I saw Hamilton twice before it became a craze, and I'm content.
