This audio recording is from 2012, when Liz Callaway played Norma Desmond in a Pittsburgh production of "Sunset".  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_BCZtezx6U&list=RD7_BCZtezx6U&start_radio=1

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

I love the Callaway sisters' voices!

Not to detract or distract, but here's another Chicago diva in the role:

I love that performance, thanks for sharing John Adams. Between this performance and the Royal Albert Hall concert - I have come to have a very high regard for the 3 main songs (Sunset Boulevard and As If We Never Said Goodbye being the other two) in Sunset Boulevard, which I found deeply disappointing in the revival because rest of the score simply does not hold a candle to it.
