I wasn’t a fan of the movie, but it’s a cute story. Im not sure what audience they’re aiming for though..I’m 25 and I was like super young when the film / book came out. I can’t imagine anyone my age actively wanting to see this since it’s not a big pop culture staple like Mean Girls.

Same! Who knows, it may end up like Jawbreaker and never see the light of day.
I know a lot of people don’t like that everything nowadays Is based off of a film, But Broadway has always reflected current culture. It’s just a sign of the times and Broadway changing To reflect that. I ain’t mad at it.

This would make sense. It seems like there is always a need for new high school/community theatre shows to license.
