They start this Friday! I caught this in Chicago and enjoyed myself for the most part, and I'm looking forward to hearing about changes and the addition of Andy Karl as Edward. Anyone going this weekend?

I have tickets for both the Friday and Saturday shows! (Before anyone asks, I'm a really big fan of the cast, live on the other side of the country, and am only in New York a few times a year)

Your excepting them to make changes?

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

Not high on my list but I want to see Orfeh live and I like Jason Danieley.

Likely nothing big between the first two previews. But it's a show I want to see more than once, and with my schedule the only way I could do it was two performances back to back. I did the same thing with Ghost Quartet in Seattle last year.

I was planning to try to see this Monday July 30 but it appears that they are still holding back a large number of orchestra seats. If you look now there are only very few available for the far sides.

I know that a lot have been bought up and listed on stubhub for outrageous prices, but I don't think the first few rows of orchestra center have ever been released. I'd find it odd if they sold out that fast.

Anyway, we'll see. I keep checking each day.

Am I the only one that thinks the logo art is the exact same as Billy Elliot's art?

They sold out. I bought tickets the day they went on sale and everything but the first two rows of the orchestra were available for every show. The second row of the orchestra was released this week. I've been keeping close tabs on seats for this show for a few reasons. Front row orch has not been released but the common thought is that it's being reserved for a potential rush.

I just got home from the invited dress. This is going to be a BIG hit! Samantha Barks is going to become a star and she and Andy are shoo-ins for Tony noms. If you see a discount now, grab it. I doubt there will be discounts once it opens. A few of the songs could be better, but the ones that work REALLY work!

They have. He leads the Act II opener. Not one of the better songs but he plays against type as a villain very well. A few minor set malfunctions tonight but nothing to stop the show for.

Do you think that seats off to extreme sides of the orchestra will miss anything?  I am looking at seats like F15, G18.  Would you think front row mezzanine is better?

I sat near the end of rows C and then D on house right (a few seats in from the aisle). I don’t feel that I missed much, if anything. I would be wary of seats that are far house left since you may miss some important scenes, including the final scene between Edward and Vivian. Front row mezz should be perfect.

Thanks for your advice.  Just bought front mezzanine!  If better orchestra seats get released, maybe I can switch.

THANK YOU. I was one of the few people that saw it in Chicago that said it was amazing, I am glad to hear that Andy is doing good work as Steve was the weakest part in Chicago. Could you share which songs you think REALLY work? Mine would be I Can't Go Back (my favorite), Anywhere But Here, You're Beautiful, You and I, Rodeo Drive and Look at Me Now.

Did anybody rush this morning? Curious how the seats are (especially since you all keep mentioning never seeing the front row orch go on sale.....if they're being held for rush or a future lotto, that'd be awesome....)

A close friend who was also at the final dress had pretty much the exact opposite reaction, said it was beyond terrible. Curious to hear first preview reports.

I heard very negative word of mouth from Chicago, but I’m a big Andy Karl fan and at the very least I hope he comes off well in this. I will be there tonight so I guess I will find out soon enough!

Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco. Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!

This was a real disaster in Chicago. Really disappointing. Well cast, great costumes, lighting, sets, and staging. With a truly terrible book and a totally mediocre, irrelevant score. I wonder how things so obviously terrible get so far.

I hope they've made it better. It was clear in Chicago people desperately wanted to love it. And it's going so much going for it. Samantha Barks is a real star and doesn't waste a moment in this show. I'm rooting for her!

I have to wonder how much they could've worked on it, since it's been just three months between it closed in Chicago.

I think they cut Look at Me Now towards the end of the Chicago run.  Not sure if they placed it back in.

My husband rushed this morning and was 8th in line at about 9:40 AM (right after the article came out). We got front row center for tonight.

While the box office attendant was swiping his card, a male attendant came up to her and said RUSH should be partial view to which she responded 'Whoops'!

So we may have gotten lucky that this was the first rush...
