It was awful on several levels.
Broadway Joe said: "What an absolute disgrace that was. That sunk whatever slight chance this doof had of getting re-elected."
I would love for this to be true, but in the end, it may actually increase his chances of a re-election. Given the fact that he's getting buddy-buddy with the very people who meddled in our elections two years ago.

I wouldn’t be so sure about the second statement. His “base” lacks critical thinking skills and will believe ANYTHING he tells them to do. The rest is all “fake news” reported by the “lame stream media.”
The one true, wise, statement Trump has ever made was when he said he could walk into the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot someone, and people would still vote for him.
Republicans, beyond a dying John McCain, seem unwilling to do anything but wag their finger and say “not good.” After all, they have a Supreme Court Justice to confirm.
This should have been a tipping point. It’s not.

I predict Russians will infiltrate some US systems and change vote totals!
I would love for the couple of Trumpers we have on the boards to come in here and defend today's press conference.

Take away that Trump's campaign, members of his administartion, and perhaps Trump himself are implicated in the investigation. Keep that out of the calculus.
Leave out that the charges are undermining the American electoral process.
Leave out the theory, rapidly gaining in momentum, that the president himself is believed to be coerced by the Russian government.
Leaving all of that aside... if that's possible (and I do have a point here)
It is still outrageous, unprecedented, indefensible for any sitting American politician to meet with a president of a country that has been accused of any crime by the DOJ and publicly undermine those accusations.
Even under circumstances far less damaging that those in which he acted, what Trump did today in Helsinki is an impeachable offense.
Does anyone believe for a minute that any Democratic president could get away with this?
But will Congressional Democrats act?;
Without Republican support, is there anything Congressional Democrats can do? While I agree they need to start using the words impeachment and treason all the time now, without the backing of Republicans, it'll all be just talk.
Vote vote vote.

The performance yesterday by Putin's puppet was nothing less than high treason. The path to getting this idiot out of office starts at the polls in November.
All of his supporters, every single one of them who continue to stand by while he sells this country down the river, need to be voted out.
And all the Bernie-or-Bust people should be making mea culpas to those of us who said that voting for Hillary was the only way to prevent disaster.
Turns out we were right.
^ This is what the OP was posting back in 2016...
"Such a sad day to be an American with these 2 complete morons being the best we have to offer"...
"Can't bring myself to vote for either of them"
It's hard to stomach him complaining now.
I voted for Clinton and refrained from criticizing her during the campaign. But I mean, come on, his assessment was patently correct. One fact - the reality that Clinton, like Trump, would have continued the Obama/Bush program of drone murders - is sufficient to prove the case.
He also posted this on November 10th 2016...
"I think the doom and gloom is blown way out of proportion. I don't get why everyone thinks they are getting deported now when he had said illegal immigrants which means he's just upholding the law that's already in place. Gay marriage isn't going to be overturned. A lot of it is wait and see but the country will be fine."
...I wonder does this still stand?
That sunk whatever slight chance this doof had of getting re-elected.
We're basically trying to navigate uncharted territory. It's time to assume the worst and prepare accordingly. He just met with the country that boosted his election and his supporters continue to believe literally everything he says, unconditionally. For Trump, this "summit" was a two-fer in his favor. Every single time he behaves abhorrently, he gets a pass. Why on earth would anyone think this would change anything? I may sound cynical, but I can't think of any reason to believe either Congress or the Supreme Court would do anything, regardless what is found in the investigation nor in any future action he might take during the life of his Presidency. We're approaching the halfway point of his first term and it only gets worse every single day, not better. I have no reason to be optimistic and I certainly won't make any assumptions based on logic or reason. It's an exercise in futility.
Rachel Maddow laid out a very clear case last night that we’re heading not the “worst case scenario” when it comes to Trump and his relationship with Russia. It was great reporting, but frightening.

Any president who commits treason should not be allowed to nominate Supreme Court justices. Congress wake up.
