One of my coworkers have been telling me the performance of 1984 they went to Daniel Radcliffe was on in the lead role, and has taken so much of me to not go all nerdy and tell them they didn’t see Daniel Radcliffe. I’m just trying to figure out why they thought they say him...

And I remember this musical I remember their brilliance And I might never sleep again...

Not super weird, but I've heard and overheard multiple people refer to the interval/intermission as "half time"

My dad's cousin SWEARS that when she went to see the tour of Les Miz in Sacramento in the early 90s, it was in French.

One time when I saw Bright Star on Broadway, I was sitting next to a guy who had never heard of Hamilton.

I work with someone who swears they saw Kirk Cameron as Jean Valjean. I’ve tried to tell her it’s was a joke from Family Guy and her husband is teasing her, but no, she is certain that she saw Kirk Cameron as a Jean Valjean on tour 20 years ago.

I want to laugh because even if it wasn’t an absurd joke from a TV show, Kirk Cameron is such a random person to claim you saw as Jean Valjean.

My aunt also really convinced that Meatloaf was playing Count Fosco when she saw The Woman in White in London.

A series of questions my college roommate asked me at one night at 1 in the morning:

Roommate: "So do the actors in the lead roles of plays get paid more than the other cast members?"
Me: "Yeah, usually."

Roommate: "Is there a theatre somewhere where all the actors get paid the same amount?"

Me: "...I don't know, Weston, I have class in the morning."

-I've heard several people refer to Kristin Chenoweth as "Chenoworth." As in just Chenoworth, like Cher.
-My father insisted that the original production of "Hairspray" was a revival.
-"Oh I love that song from "Les Miz," "I Don't Know How to Love Him.""

Heck, even during its run on Broadway, people thought THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE was a revival.  Many still do.

My high school boyfriend thought all Broadway shows played in the same building, like a movie theater.

I have talked to SO many people that don't understand that shows close. Someone last year told me that they saw Miss Saigon in the 90s, and that it was now the longest running show of all time. On a family trip to the city a couple of years ago, my cousins were DYING to see Mary Poppins, because they had seen it the last time they were there. I guess I understand the confusion, but it drives me crazy.

Picture it, Summer, 2009.  West Side Story was at the Palace.  I was working in ticket sales.

Ticket Buyer: Is Liza Minnelli still playing in West Side Story?

Me: Um.....no.  I don't believe she's ever been in that show, at least on Broadway.

TB: No, no,  she was in West Side Story.  I read it in the Times

Me: Well, maybe at one point she was in a past production, but can assure you she's not in this production of West Side Story.

TB: No, I have the article right here.  (She pulls out her paper)

Me: (Looks at paper, sees photo with caption reading "Liza Minnelli performs with the cast of West Side Story at the 2009 Tony Awards).   Ok.  I guess I can see your confusion now.  Sorry, Liza's not in the show.

I once saw a couple walk out of Hello Dolly! because they said Donna Murphy looked too much like Hillary and it made them uncomfortable. They said "It's like looking at Hillary onstage." I wanted to say to them "You realize she's not actually Hillary right?"

I have SO many of these types of stories because for a long time I didn’t have any friends that liked theatre. A couple years ago someone asked me “How Is Idina Menzel in Wicked and If/Then at the same time?” I asked if they were joking and they responded “No, I also want to know how she is in “Violet” aswell” I began laughing at that because then I thought they were clearly joking but that person actually got mad at me because they said they were not joking.... :/

I also had a friend swear to me that Evan Hansen killed himself at the end of the show.

I've had non-theater friends insist a certain celebrity has just joined a popular show.

#1. When Wayne Brady was in KINKY BOOTS, someone insisted he was in BOOK OF MORMON repeatedly.

#2. Idina Menzel returned to WICKED to help boost sales(like last year).

#3. Idina Menzel is starring in FROZEN.

#4. Jennifer Lopez was joining WEST SIDE STORY.

#5. Whoopi Goldberg was in the recent COLOR PURPLE revival.

#6. Frankie Valli was joining JERSEY BOYS.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour will be starting up in Somerville, NJ on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City, MO(May 29-Jun 3) and is now then touring throughout Japan August & September 2018. Japan schedule: Tokyo(Aug 15-21), Kanagawa(Aug 28-29), Shizuoka(Aug 30), Osaka(Aug 31 - Sept 2).

There's always someone on line at TKTS insisting WICKED is available. Nearly every time I've been on line at TKTS someone will ask "how much is WICKED discounted for?".

For me, I've heard Book of Mormon so many times. Each time I'm in line, I hear at least four people ask about Book of Mormon.

My cousin was incensed to learn the original cast from Hamilton wasn't still performing on Broadway, and couldn't understand why tickets were so much if the original people were gone

At one performance of HELLO, DOLLY! a few months ago, I sat next to a well-dressed and articulate lady who bought her ticket on the TKTS line. She wanted to know how she could go about buying tickets for HAMILTON. She was utterly confused when I suggested she try the box office. She had no idea what a "box office" was or where it would be located.
