As the first opinions pour in from Boston, just wondering if they transfer in Spring 2019, what are the likely available theaters?
Imperial--Looking at the recent drop, will they be out by the February?
Winter Garden- Can it house the scenic design we've seen?
Lunt-Fontanne- Both above comments.
Hirschfeld- Is "Kinky Boots" winding down? Seems like it's the right size and could be the best fit if "Moulin Rouge" transfers?

looking at that pic, it seems though that those drapes might only be in the FOH as far back as where the boxes go.
What about the Neil Simon, is something lined up there after Angels?
It is also ironic that the St. James would be a perfect fit for this since the Moulin Rouge director was originally supposed to direct Frozen.
I still think it can work in the Marquis, but someone also needs to find out, are those decorated boxes in the photo part of the set or are they the boxes in the Colonial? without those the design wont look as nice.

The Cher show is slated to take the Neil Simon later this year. It's been a while since I was in the Marquis...anybody know the pluses and minuses of it?

The producers are probably going to want one of the more "ornate" theaters. The Marquis is as bland as you get. Even if they build out to set to be more ornate, it would contrast with the ordinariness of the rest of the theater.I assume they'd want this show to be as immersive as possible. It'd probably look good in the Belasco.

Mockingbird is on sale through March 17, so if Moulin took the Shubert, it would be in the 2019-20 season. Also, I don't think Mockingbird has been advertised as a limited engagement? It seems like the type of thing they'd try to run longer, at least through the Tonys (with or without Jeff Daniels).

Been in that one for the first time recently, its quite pretty, not sure the 'styles' mesh but they can cover up most of it, it does not have upper boxes for things like that elephant though but i am sure they will tweak the design to suit. they also have a nice size lobby.
Will Kinky Boots outright close or possibly transfer to something smaller?

Hard to beat some of those road houses as far as size. The Hirschfeld is nice, but since they've built out the stage, it seems like the overhang might make for weird site lines up in mezz, but I suppose they don't really care about the cheap seats up there. I feel like it'd be gorgeous in the Nederlander, but that's def too small.

Will they have to renovate a theater (a la Great Comet) to accommodate the tables? If so, will there be enough time to open this season if it goes to the Shubert, Hirschfeld, or Imperial?

Great Comet didn't renovate the Imperial -- there was just a lot of dressing up, including connecting the stage to the balcony.
Taking out a row or two of seats takes less than a day, I think it's the least of their worries, with a set of that size.

Circle in the Square is way too small for this production, and I think they want as many seats as possible to sell. Whatever theater it will be, they will completely change it (Comet) but I guess it all depends on when they are coming to Broadway and what's open.

How the hell would this show fit in the Circle in the Square?
It won't be able to fit, but would love to see this at the Belasco. That set in that theatre would look Gorgeous.
I would not be against the Winter Garden either. Whichever theatre it goes into, I hope they can incorporate a wind mill on the facade.

The Belasco is too small for what I imagine is an expensive show to run. I would eliminate it completely.
I agree with everyone who said that it needs to be in a theatre that is ornate to begin with, so it fits in.
My first two choices are never going to happen: the New Amsterdam or the Majestic (could Phantom move to a smaller theatre or does it need a huge theatre to still have good grosses with a lot of discounting?).
Failing that, my next choice would be the Winter Garden, which I have always thought of as having a huge stage, whether that is the case or not. Probably from seeing Follies there, which was also a huge show...although maybe not really in the sets department. I like the idea of it being right on Broadway as well, as this looks to be an over-the-top elaborate show (hopefully, really good as well). The School of Rock seems to still be doing decently, so could be an issue, depending on when it wants to open.
Next would be the Hirschfeld, which is a very unique theatre to me. There is something about its design and look that I love...whether it is large enough is a question. Again, I assume this show will have a large weekly operating cost.
There is always the Broadway if King Kong does not succeed...again, when does it want to open?
Please not in the Marquis. I hate that theatre. It is so drab, though not as bad as the Minskoff.

Shame that Mockingbird is going into Shubert at all. I will miss Dolly.

The boxes are generally seating at the Colonial. The set felt like it was designed for a Broadway theatre and made to fit the Colonial. We were in the middle right of the front balcony and it felt like an obstructed view seat (it was not advertised as such and really shouldn't have been).
It is a BREATHTAKING set, regardless. I'm curious to see how it evolves as it eyes Broadway.

What about the Walter Kerr? It will be open after Springsteen closes in December.
