My Fair Lady seating- 2nd row aisle Loge vs. left side Orchestra Row D, ,seats 103-104

Hi-

I'm considering Loge Right Center Row B seats 401/402 or Left Side Orchestra Row D seats 103/104.  An aisle seat is a must, and both of these options has an aisle seat.  I'm short and my husband is tall, and we're both quite nearsighted! Any thoughts?  Thanks!

I got an aisle seat in the Orchestra as legroom is very limited at the Beaumont. I’ve never sat in the Loge so I can’t comment on that. My seat was Orchestra Center L412 and glad I had the aisle. Decent view. I do think if you’re too far right or left you might miss parts of some scenes. I think I might have enjoyed it more if I was closer though (who know?) so I would probably vote for Orchestra. Better to be closer with potentially more legroom and feel more emotionally connected and miss a few seconds here and there than to see everything but not feel connected with less legroom.

I did sit far right Orchestra seat (TKTS) for The King and I for Act 1 (was able to move to available seats Center Orchestra on aisle at intermission. I didn’t hate the far right seats though.

My nearsightedness has reached the point where I find myself squinting or moving the frames around on my face. I love sitting in the first three rows of the orchestra at the Beaumont, with its thrust stage. I can see every expression on every face with no strain. Side orchestra is fine as long as you are closer to the aisle than to the wall, and you're far from the wall.

A couple of people have complained that the loge is too steep, but I've never felt that way in the loge. You get a good overview of everything from up there. But you need theater glasses to read the actors' faces.

I was 2nd row orchestra all the way on the aisle stage right, and I loved it. It is a big production, so I think a few rows back would have been nice to take in the whole picture, but it's great. You only miss one scene in the house.

Thanks! It looks like they’ve removed the first two seats in row d? When I put the tickets in the cart, it says they’re seats 3 and 4 off the aisle but as far as I can tell from the seat selection chart, those seats are first ones available.

I've seen this production twice (first time at last row of the loge and second time 5th row extreme side orchestra). Of the two, I definitely felt more connected in the orchestra seat. Even though I was close to the wall on the extreme side, it was still full view due to the thrust staging. The Vivian Beaumont is a small theater and even in last row of loge it was great to see the entire choreography. 

The orchestra at the Vivian Beaumont is similar to stadium seating so sitting 4-7 rows back is ideal. The people's heads in front of me didn't obstruct my view at all.

Hello!

Orchestra Row D begins with 101, so 103 will not be on the aisle. If those are your only two options, then I would go with the Loge seats as they are definitely on the aisle.

I sat in Row A of the loge for Oslo, and I had the worst legroom imaginable. I saw My Fair Lady in Row E of the 500 section of the orchestra, and I was perfectly comfortable. I don't know if Row B of the loge is any better than Row A, but based on my experience, I would pick the orchestra seat.

This is becoming quite a project.

Ordinarily seats 101 and 102 would be the seats on the aisle. For this production, the seats for 101 and 102 have been removed. The "aisle" that your were supposed to be on is actually the runway up the tunnel that actors in the ensemble mainly use to quickly get on and off the stage during a production number.

So your seat 103 is not on the aisle, but there is probably just empty space where seat 102 should be and that should be enough to stretch your legs. (Being all of 5' 7.5", I have little sympathy for long people.) I suspect that these vacant spaces are kept open for someone coming up through the tunnel who must wait a bit to dash on stage. Don't want that person cluttering up the tunnel entrance.

Sit in row D. The show is better closer to the stage....take my word for it.

With all due respect, OlBlueEyes, I work at the Beaumont and Row D in the 100 section begins with 101. The "tunnel" you speak of affects the 200 and 400 sections of the Orchestra (which, if you look at the seating chart, there is kind of a rectangle of space next to Rows B-E in 200 and 400). The "tunnel" is connected to the stage by stairs and does not affect the seating in the 100 section of the theatre.

Irishgator1, if you are still looking to get tickets for My Fair Lady, and the ones you mentioned are still available, then I would still go with the Loge as 401 is definitely an aisle seat. 103 in the orchestra is not.

I sat in a second row aisle seat in the loge (100s section) and there was a mild railing issue blocking some of the downstage playing space.
