I know a few people have posted about what seats they got in the Previews thread but I wanted to make an official thread just to get an idea of where the rush tickets are.
Seems like a mix of front row orchestra and mid balcony. Kind of sucks you either get amazing seats or like...less than ideal seats. But yeah, right now it looks like one of those two.
I rushed on Tuesday promptly at 10am and got the center of Row G in the center balcony- the last full row. It's not a bad view, since the theatre is small. It just seems like the rush is the best available on the day.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
I bought my ticket for Monday (June 26) the second it turned from 9:59 to 10am and got seat 111 in the first row. From what I heard and from chatting with my seat neighbors, the front row was all rush tickets. I wouldn't have been upset with the very last row (I went home after work to get my glasses since I wasn't sure where the seats would be) but I'm happy at least some of the rush seats were front row.
The balcony of the Hudson is one of the very best balconies on Broadway. I saw The Persian Woman from there and it was a great view. I have mediocre eyesight and could see facial expressions just fine.
Grabbed a ticket at 10am sharp 06/25 and got front row A106. Idk if being a single had anything to do with it but it was my first time being that close and I honestly think it made me love the show more
I noticed that they don't seem to have tickets saved in envelopes by name at the ticket office, so I suspect your rush ticket seats are determined purely by when you show up to box office to retrieve them (and nothing to do with when you purchase them.) I think they just checked my name against the list and then gave me the next ticket off the pile. I would suggest getting there earlier (I believe they start distributing them an hour before the show) for perhaps a better seat. I showed up 15 minutes before the performance start and got tickets in Balcony Row D. Having said that, the seats were surprisingly not terrible.

My ticket was in an envelope, the person at the box office took it out of an envelope to hand to me, but I saw that it was in something. Also when I got there (~25 minutes before curtain) there were two people already seated to my right who had been there for close to 20 minutes already. They may have switched it up after the first couple of previews, but I thought they were assigned prior to pick up from my experience.
Just ordered one ticket for tonight’s show. I called TodayTix and they said the theatre assigns seats as the tickets are purchased, not by the time you arrive at the theater.
I went yesterday via TodayTix rush. The ticket turned out to be second to last row of Dress center. It wasn't a perfect view but honestly the bigger issue is how little leg rooms those seats have.
I went on 7/19 and bought my ticket the second it switched from 9:59am to 10am and got Dress Circle Row D all the way on the side. The woman behind me bought hers at 1pm. So something isn't making sense. I am not complain about the ticket, just wondering how this theatre is "assigning" the seats.
Got 2 tix for last Saturday night and the seats were Row G in the dress circle, really excellent seats for the show. Had a friend rush a single ticket and she was placed in Dress Circle as well, but in the last row House Left.
Got the TodayTix rush on Tuesday, 8/7 (10 AM on the nose) and got great seats--orchestra row M, seats 9 and 11. Off to the side, but so close and with limitless leg room (seats are in the first row of the side section). Loved the show.
Got two rush tickets for the Saturday 8/11 evening show and they were dress circle B109 and 110, right in the center. Great seats! It was pretty sad to see the dress circle 80% empty for a Saturday evening show, however. I'm surprised they haven't increased the number of rush tickets to try to fill it up a bit more...
saw the show last night for a 2nd time. rushed todaytix at exactly 10. we got front row center. AMAZING seats. and Sharon Catherine Brown was on for the mom (not pythio)
I went to yesterday's matinee and had A 110 & A 111. Sharon Brown as Gynecia was fantastic! That voice! The riffing going on in act 2 was insane! Plus Samantha Pollino was Philoclea was gorgeous. 3rd time doing the rush and twice in front row and once in the dress circle. The girls behind us were talking (and of course I was listening) and said they had rush as well in row B, the box office said it was on the time you pick up the tickets. I picked up almost 50 minutes prior, but one other time I picked up early and was in the dress circle. I do not know what to believe.
The show is just a great time....go see it to have a hysterical night at the theatre.
Sorry to bump this, but has anyone done rush recently? I'm bringing a friend and would rather know where my seats are for her sake, plus they're $40 on TodayTix and I might just do that. But is it worth it to risk it with the rush seats?
