I watched the show was completely overthrown by how well she can make certain "observations" about people. She extremely intelligent and told a blistering story what most people deal with when the choose to decide to come out publicly. It definitely made me laugh very hard and cry even harder...Bravo to Netflix!...

Extraordinary. Crackerjack standup and superb theatre. She masterfully foreshadowed the surprising ride she was taking us on.

Highly recommend watching this. It's been a week since I saw this it and it has stayed with me. I don't think it's an exaggeration to call it "transformative".
Loved her in Please Like Me, and this set was amazing... need a second watch before I formulate thoughts. Kinda wish I saw it in NYC recently.

I would have missed this if it wasn't for this thread. Thank you. Very astute. I pray the popularity of this show encourages her back with new stuff.

Here's an interview she did about the special - where she admits, she doesn't know if she is really through with comedy.

I agree with everyone that the special was really fantastic. She delivers solidly funny and original hour and then completely turns around and does something completely different, passionate, and political, and handles that just as deftly.
And everyone who enjoyed it should really seek out Please Like Me, the wonderful Australian television series in which she played a memorable recurring role (and I believe she became a regular in later seasons).
