Now that the Tonys are over, I'm guessing that cast members for Once on This Island are going to start taking vacation.  Are there any planned absences or vacation for the show coming up (or right now)?  Thanks in advance!

Do we know if the contracts for the show is one year long?

 

I really hope Kilgore and Newell don't depart before October, if the show is still open, course!

I believe they are six month contracts, which is why Lea is leaving, Loren Lott has already left, and I think Alysha Deslorieux is planning to leave this month too.

Merle Dandridge comes back for about a month beginning next Tuesday. When she departs again, Tamyra Gray is returning.

I don't know who he's filling in for, but Anthony Wayne is their male vacation swing for the summer. Check his Twitter to see exact dates when he's on.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour will be starting up in Somerville, NJ on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City, MO(May 29-Jun 3) and is now then touring throughout Japan August & September 2018. Japan schedule: Tokyo(Aug 15-21), Kanagawa(Aug 28-29), Shizuoka(Aug 30), Osaka(Aug 31 - Sept 2).

I don't think they are six-month contracts, as those would've been up in early May. It's from first preview, not opening. Lea is leaving for a few reasons, but mainly to do "Annie," Loren left to do "Born for This," and who knows with Alysha considering how many shows she's missed.

Thanks everybody!  I ended up seeing the show this past Sunday night, and everybody was in except Roderick Covington.  From the curtain call, I think it was Alysha Deslorieux and Grasan Kingsberry's last show.

There may have been riders or special arrangements for the cast to stay through the Tonys.

I’m seeing this again on Saturday. I’m excited that the original gods are reassembled for this week.

They are not on six month contracts. When I spoke to Q, Isaac, Phillip, and Hailey they all said they would still be there in August. I'm pretty positive that Lea is the only one on a special contract. At the very beginning it was known she was leaving in June.

Any more info on vacations or absences coming up? I know Rodrick will be on for Papa Ge August 10/11. How has attendance been in general lately?
