I'm a student trying to build my audition book, and I found a song or two that I like, but they're written for latina characters. I'm white (half korean, but appearing white) and don't want to make things awkward in an audition. Is it okay to sing a song written for a different race?

I would consider it on a song by song basis. Same thing with songs written for a different gender.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
