On both of his entrances there seemed to be a noticeable boo coming from the audience. Did anyone else notice this? Does santons know what this is about?

It was “BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE,” but the UUUUUU being prolonged might have caused the confusion.

This “booooing” confusion happens at every award show he appears in that is telecast. People asking why he was booed when the audience is actually shouting “Bruce!”

Every day I have some sort of Simpsons reference, but the whole Bruce Springsteen and "booing" thing takes the cake:

Except the opposite.

Santons didn't chime in, but the other two replies are accurate.

He was not being booed, the same way Luke Burbank is not being booed when he shows up at Wait Wait Don't Tell Me.

Well if he wasn't he should have been.  That was about the weakest performance of the whole evening. All he did was just play four chords over and over again ad naseum and spoke nothing  but about the whole mishpocheh when he should have rocked it and brought the house down which he didn't.  Notice the weak applause after and no one stood up.  Bad Bruce.  That person booing could have been me.  You could have done better.

I loved Bruce last night. I wish he would have sung the entire song though, since it’s my all time favorite song of his.

I agree with you. I was not expecting "Born To Run" but this was way too low key for me and he hardly sang. Yep, he got tepid applause at best.

Springsteen's performance did not come off very well at all. A very dull and disappointing choice for such a late in the evening, touted performance slot.

I'm sure within the context of the full show, it's powerful. But removed from that and plopped into an awards show at 10:45? Not so much.

I honestly think it was too late in the night for that performance. I know it was only 10:30pm but that number didn't help. I think it could have been more of an emotional high point if it was in the middle of the broadcast or maybe not. Either way, the last spot didn't help matters. "Last Dance" would have been a much better final number.

Yeah, at 10:45, I didn't really care to hear every one of his neighbor's names...

Bruce’s performance was the only one of the evening that I actively disliked. I actually have a ticket to see him in November that I’ve been eagerly awaiting for months and paid way too much for, and now I’m wondering if I should sell it and use the money to buy tickets to five other shows instead.

Can anyone who has seen it tell me if what I saw Sunday is what I should expect from the whole show? Because seriously, I really hated it, and I can easily get my money back if I decide not to go...
