As the above poster said, scalpers. They took a risk on buying up blocks of tickets, and when they didn't sell at inflated prices on stubhub/other reselling platforms, they had to cut the prices drastically the day-of in order to recoup some of the cost of the original ticket. The same thing happened with Bette Midler's last couple weeks in her first Hello, Dolly! run.

There are a bunch of inflated orchestra prices for tonight (6/11) $800-1100 (pickup).I wonder how low they will go.

Are people paying insane prices for this show?
