OMG!!!! I just met Katrina Lenk!!! My FIRST Broadway show ever! |
She is very sweet, and shy. Reminds me, I was walking out of Angels in America, crossed paths with Barrett ("Janis" Weed and said hi to her.
My bad on the souvenir stand, there’s one in the basement near the restrooms that is open prior to the show starting. The one near the ticket window is the one that opens only after the show.
So, I just got out of the show and walked down to check-in to my hotel.
Loved, loved, LOVED the show. Katrina is stunning, mesmerizing, and superb.
My other favorites in the show are Etai Benson and Adam Kantor, who the latter has the most unappreciated part of the show.
The entire cast was simply brilliant, and I found myself tearing up several times.
Loved the music. Loved the simplicity of it. Just overall brilliant!
Got to get ready to go back out again and see “Hello, Dolly!”.
This has been the most AMAZING day! The weather is gorgeous and I LOVE my first Broadway experience ever!
You are making me smile. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
Lucie Arnez, Andy Cohen, and Tina Fey also are here at “The Boys in the Band” opening night. Got pictures of them at the media center as they were having their pictures taken by the press.
The Alley Show Wall was all red and white Dolly posters. From the Shubert to the Booth.

I'm so happy you're having a great time! I hope you continue to have a great trip!
Just back to the hotel from watching “Hello, Dollly!” with Bernadette Peters. One word:
FABULOUS!!!!
I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard in a long time, been touch by a performance like this - a grand classic - ever, and totally entertained by pure joy and entertainment as this.
I’ll have to write more later, it’s been a very, very long day having been up since 3:30am.
I can’t imagine how this day could have been more wonderful. My first Broadway experience. And it was shear perfection!

This thread warms my heart - it takes me back to my first ever trip to the city! I am so glad you are having a great trip!
THANK YOU everyone for the kind comments.
This was a very short trip: basically fly in one day, out the next. And the main focus was Broadway and it’s theaters, and Times Square.
I accomplished a LOT yesterday, including meeting the owner of Triton Galleries and seeing the shop. Small operation. If you ever go there, ring the buzzer on the left hand side of the door for access and he’ll let you in.
But I didn’t come close to accomplishing everything, namely seeing the Marquis Theater wall of window cards and eating somewhere nice. I simply ran out time, mesmerized by the sea of humanity, taking pictures, and, according to my pedometer, walking over 25,000 steps.
I’m back at the hotel getting ready to check-out, it’s raining outside and a bit miserable, and will most likely head for the Penn Station (1/2 block away and viewable from my hotel room), then onwards back to Newark Airport.
And I’ll be back in August for Part 2: “Hello, Dolly!” with Bette Midler, and “My Fair Lady”. Very excited about my return. Between now and then is the National Tour of “Hamilton” in Cleveland on my birthday.
Once I get setttled in somewhere between here and home (or this weekend) I’ll write up a little review of the two shows and post pictures.
I’m dog tired, exhausted, and my feet hurt.
