Hadn't heard her sing before but was impressed by the clips I had seen of her in Beauty and the Beast at the Hollywood Bowl. It got me thinking about what she could come to broadway in. Does she have the vocal range to play Jenna in Waitress? I could see her acting personality fitting well into the role but am not familiar with her singing voice enough to know if it could fit the role as well.

i don't think it's really her voice type but i could see her playing it character-wise. maybe with some changing of keys she could!

I'm a fan of She & Him but no. Her voice isn't strong enough and she doesn't have a wide enough range. And I feel like her Jenna would be too emotionally withdrawn.

I've seen no evidence that she could do the role justice, from an acting or singing perspective.

I don't think so.  I saw her in Beauty and the Beast Friday night at the Hollywood Bowl and I wasn't impressed at all.

I've heard other people say this and I don't see it. I feel like on a surface level, yes she can hold a note and she's around the right age. That's all there is about her that fits Jenna, though. Have we ever seen her do anything except for "quirky" things? Both singing and acting-wise, she's never done anything of much heft. I vote no.

In 2012 Loretta Lynn announced that Zooey would be starring in the upcoming Broadway musical adaptation of COAL MINER’S DAUGHTER.   Nothing new about this has surfaced aside from this public announcement.

What from that vidoe made you think Waitress? She’s not a singer like Waitress needs.
