ABC's "The View" |
Here is what a producer friend told me, "Every option at the moment is a potential option."
In other words, they're talks of pushing it back a week (even though I would assume they'd want a jump on The Talk), but then it's the nightmare of rescheduling guest, audience tickets, etc.

Definitely the right decision. McCain news still fresh. Big rating$.

I like Abby so far. She’s not the ray of sunshine that Sara was, but I think she’ll be fine. I like how she doesn’t read directly from her cards. She comes off as beauty pageant-y sometimes. It’ll be interesting to see how the five interact with two conservatives (“my dad this-n-that&rdquo

Abby adds nothing. She has zero chemistry with the others. I know it's just her first week, but I don't think the producers could have found a less charismatic or interesting person to co-host. Hope she comes and goes quickly.

To my observation, and it includes a daily Twitter presence, Navarro is much more in the Nicole Wallace post-Trump mode, a solid centrist in self-presentation, with maximized disgust for this regime. She still has her street cred as a lifelong Republican, but her loathing of what has happened to her party so informs her opinions, she rarely comes across as a conservative voice. She may be something we don't see: a true centrist, though many of us are weary and cynical just hearing the word. I love her, and find her presence on this show the most refreshing, even though I'm far from centrist myself. Haven't warmed to Huntsman, but I'm an unlikely fan. As ACL2006 astutely notes, she's prepared and very media savvy.
Abby hasn't settled in yet and Im interested to see if and when she does once she has a friend at the table. I can appreciate though, the girl is prepared as hell and comes across incredibly professional. Let's be honest, having ditched the couch a few seasons back The View is wanting to be taken seriously as seen as a news program (which makes sense as that's the division they fall under at ABC) and Abby definitely has a "news woman" vibe to her.
Worth nothing, they had their best season premiere in years this season.

The Huntsman - Hostin contention yesterday was ratched up. Huntsman went after Hostin for a prior day's characterization of Trump. Hostin had never come close to saying "he's Hitler," but Huntsman hurled the accusation that what she said was tantamount, comparable. It grew ugly quickly Mainly, Hostin -- who is Puerto Rican in heritage -- had flown to the devastated island, see results first hand, including for family members, and voiced outrage. Huntsman went after here for blaming Trump. It was boilerplate dived American, and clear that a privileged white woman sees the same debacle through different eyes. Impasse. Commercial break. Move on. I was put off by Huntsman, turning the discussion about the government's failure into a referendum on the language employed to speak of Trump's egregious failures. Hostin is entitled to be offended; Huntsman couldn't be bothered to dare to see why a Hispanic woman of color might have a different take.

Agreed. Maybe now that her bff Meghan is back she'll start to open up. She's basically there for a second conservative voice and a fact checker. Nothing else.
It’s also interesting to note that I actually kinda missed Meghan and I’m glad to have to her back.
