2019-2020 Touring Season |
Unfortunately, I don't have any info yet. But, I'm sure more will be revealed at the beginning of the new year.
Also, although not a new show, the Blumenthal Performing Arts in Charlotte just announced that Les Mis will be stopping there from October 29 through November 3, 2019.
Just got word that Dear Evan Hansen will be stopping in Kansas City in the 19/20 season. No specific dates were given, but my guess is it will go there after it plays Dallas.

Sure Jan
Although this thread is for the shows playing during the 19/20 season, DEH has already announced a return to the Ahmanson in the 20/21 season, which means the show will go on past its initial 50+ city, two-year commitment.

That’s amazing! And I’m seeing the show in Costa Mesa January 5th. Already listened to the OBC recording
Coming with today's announcement that Summer: The Donna Summer Musical will close next month, the show is touring starting in the Fall of 2019 (Sep 30 to be exact). The cities announced in the release are: Los Angeles, Nashville, Rochester, Washington DC and West Palm Beach. Read the entire release here:

Another closing, another tour announced: Torch Song is set to close on Broadway in January and will also start a national tour in the Fall, launching at the Ahmanson in LA.

Does anyone think Come From Away is going to come to DC as well and if so where? I bought tickets to the Baltimore show in April but have a feeling they are going to do a second year? The same thing happened with School of rock and now I'm stuck with extra school of rock tickets as part of the national season package because I guess they decided to do a second year to include dc. Weird the dc/national must be non-equity since its not on the website? (sorry newbie here)
When the tour for Come From Away was initially announced, the producers stated that it would play in 60+ US cities. So, seeing that, after this current season, it would have played only in 23 (24 including preview) venues, it stands to reason that the odds of it coming to D.C., a major theatre market, are pretty good for next season. If I had to guess the venue, I'd go with the Kennedy Center. Hope that helps!

I've heard from a couple of different people that Torch Song is taking over the Ahmanson slot in LA that Once On This Island originally had, and that OOTI is no longer touring.

I have no inside information except the CTG website still lists both shows as part of the 20-19-2020 season.
That said, I wouldn't be too sad. Once/Island looked like a fun layout at the Circle in the Square, and maybe could transfer at the Taper. However, I think a lot of everything I read was the great thrust stage staging,so I think it will loose a lot transferring to a proscenium stage.

I'm expecting a Boston stop for this show before it's run here.

We’re about 100 days out from them officially announcing the 2019/2020 season, and I’ll be in attendance at the Benedum when they do so. For that season lineup I’d gladly renew my subscription, as well as buy tickets to the four season specials.

Indeed. November 5-17, 2019 at the Opera House.

Is this official? Was hoping for this to be at the Colonial...
If true, currently it seems like the broadway in Boston season will be including Cats and Come From Away. Hoping for Torch Song, The Band's Visit, My Fair Lady, OOTI if it tours, and Jesus Christ Superstar.
First post! :) Does anyone have any updates or predictions which shows will come to the Pantages (LA)?
At the Pantages, I believe Frozen is the only show confirmed to come. Summer is also expected to play in LA, but where is still unclear. Anastasia hits the west coast at the end of the current season, so I'd expect it to play there early. In terms of new touring productions, I'd expect just about all of them to stop at either the Pantages or the Ahmanson, including The Band's Visit, Mean Girls, Jesus Christ Superstar, and one or more of the tropical shows (Margaritaville, SpongeBob, OOTI).
In Costa Mesa, again, Anastasia should play there, along with Miss Saigon. Considering the Segerstrom pairs a lot with the Pantages/Ahmanson, expect a lot of overlap with new shows.
