ArtMan said: "Question for the Atlanta subscribers? When I saw Christina Aguilera at the Fox last November, the lady next to me said the only way you could get a ticket to Hamilton when it last played, was only as a subscriber. They did not allow ticket buying for the nonsubscribers. I found that odd. When I saw Hamilton in Orlando, weeks ago, that was how I was able to buy a ticket. I'm not going to see it in Atlanta. Just curious."

She's wrong. I bought two tickets a few months before and was not a subscriber at the time. I'm not saying it wasn't a little tricky making sure I was waiting in the online queue and ready to go, but it wasn't difficult. People also physically lined up for them.

Thanks for info, trekkygurl.  As someone who has lived in Atlanta, twice, I know there were more than enough subscribers to purchase most of the tickets.  However, to say you could not buy a ticket unless you were a subscriber, just seemed off to me.  I live in Jacksonville, now, and we are getting Hamilton next year.  Our shows, mostly do not do well.  (Waitress is in two weeks and has sold badly).  So I am curious to see if subscription sales take the majority of the tickets.

And 46,000 subscribers in Cleveland - what they say is most subscribers in the country = 2 weeks of the standard 3 week runs already sold out in (most shows) 2,800 seat theater. Not bad.

LOVE Cleveland and it’s cultural district. I’ve been up there several times in the past couple of years to see tours and enjoy the sights of the city. So much to offer!

I tuned in right after you posted this just expecting to watch a couple minutes, but I am still watching thirty something minutes later... Gina Vernaci is so charismatic and well spoken, and the interviews/performances they have had have been excellent! Thank you for sharing this!

Watched it from beginning to end. Actually very entertaining with lots of great music and interviews. I can see me heading back to Cleveland to see JCS if Pittsburgh doesn’t get it.

Looking at the Playhouse Square website, looks like Cleveland will also be getting as alternate options to the season subscriber shows:

- Jersey Boys

- Blue Man Group on Tour

- Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas”

- CATS

For those interested, Groundhog Day is being billed as an "Ordway Original", so it's a regional production. And if I end up in Minneapolis in the middle of the summer next year, you'll know why 2019-2020 Touring Season

Ever After is being billed as "Ordway Original and Brand New Musical." Earlier in the thread there was something about this being a pre-Broadway premiere - I can't tell from the wording if this is supposed to be an out-of-town tryout or not.

^^ Ever After will do a final try-out at the Ordway, then either go to Broadway or the dumpster.

Hanover Theatre in Worcester, Ma has announced!
Beautiful
Play that goes wrong
Charlie and Chocolate Factory
Bandstand
American in Paris
Plus two more that are Tba which usually means they are still left in Boston’s season so aren’t allowed to announce yet—what’s left in Boston are Dear Evan Hansen, Bronx tale and hello dolly so am guessing it’s among those options

Boston also has Miss Saigon left, so could be that as well since Miss Saigon played Providence and Boston already this season.

Oooh, good point. I bet that’s it since the last announcement is on July 1 right after it closes in Boston. Since hello dolly is in August in boston maybe it was too late to include in the Worcester package—are there chances it will be around for 2020-21 touring season as well?

For an equity Dolly tour I'd say no. Most tours go out for 2 years then go to non equity or stop touring all together. Now big shows like Hamilton, DEH, Wicked, etc. Will tour for years. My guess (not an expert but just follow these things) is the last 2 shows will be Miss Saigon and Bronx Tale.

These swap a shows are not good at all! I wasn’t impressed this year either- Chicago, POTO, Cinderella and Rudolph. Next year isn’t much better either. I saw JB and Blue Man Group. I may see CATS again in swap for TBV but we’ll see...

I was hoping for the following swaps:
Falsettos
Bandstand
Fiddler
Charlie

Any chance those above shows will still tour in 2020?

I am disappointed with Cleveland’s swap choices as well. Very pleased with the season overall but I’m going to swap out Summer for something. Also, TBV is the show this year that cannot be swapped out.

I've always heard that Cleveland had an underappreciated night life. Nice season. I'm expecting similar for SF (although Anastasia closes out this season here).

However... I think SF may have you beat. I think we have over 50,000 subscribers for 4 week runs at a 2300 seat house (orchestra, loge and center mezz mostly sold out).

But the bigger picture is lots to he thankful about with so many great shows all around the country!

I'm also surprised Bandstand isn't in the Cleveland season in some way or another (in season or swap-out), considering the city of Cleveland is so prominent in the show. Seems like a missed opportunity for all involved.
