I rather wait for Costa Mesa to host Anastasia during the season. I haven't even seen the film versions of My Fair Lady or Mean Girls. But I did find the Lincoln Center productions of South Pacific and King & I

im really sick of these announcements. We all know it’s for the road producers that are tony voters.
And I remember this musical I remember their brilliance And I might never sleep again...

Seriously, it's just so funny that they make these announcements like clockwork. Just stop being so obvious, producers!

Especially when the productions opened shop like a month ago.

Has any of these announcements have actually proved to help a show win? How many road producers are there anyway?

And I remember this musical I remember their brilliance And I might never sleep again...

I wonder if the "Road Vote" is actually as important as people act like it is. Seems to me that most years everyone knows what will win Best Musical before all the shows open and before tours are even announced. It's not like announcing a tour is gonna make it a better musical

But also, these titles are ones that regardless when they announce their tours, road voters would pick them up. Tell what markets wouldn't want a classic show in "My Fair Lady" for the blue hair crowd, and "Mean Girls" for all of those who grew up on the film?

It always makes me think about Avenue Q. They sucked up a lot to road voters- won best musical- then signed an exclusive contract for Vegas.
