Heard a rumor this was transferring to the Public this fall from London. Anyone know anything about this?

Oh I hope so. Had a friend in London just rave about it!

It would make sense given the working relationship they have with the Young Vic

Speaking of transfers from across the pond, I would not be surprised if Network with Bryan Cranston takes the Newman stage in the late summer/early fall

also, what is the status of the new Sondheim show that has been workshoped at The Public?

Possibly...I know its being quoted as "direct from the West End" when it plays in Toronto during February/March.

The show was at the Old Vic, though - and the Old and Young Vics haven't been affiliated for decades, IIRC.

I believe it's still supposed to happen, but they're waiting on Mr. Sondheim, who has said the writing process is going slowly. I have a friend who was in a show that was supposed to transfer to the Public next year, but they supposedly got pulled from the upcoming season line-up to make room for Sondheim's new show. So if that's true, hopefully we should be seeing it next year.

Oh that's interesting! I enjoyed the show but it would work better as a play. As a play the story is compelling. With the music shoehorned it's very typical jukeboxy (makes no sense) but it was worth it to hear Shirley Henderson sing "Like a Rolling Stone" and Sheila Atim's "Has Anybody Seen My Love".
