My middle school does a musical every year, but we always have a ton of girls and no more than 5 boys... this year we have lost 3 as they are going to high school next year, and the boy who will (undoubtedly) get the male lead next year doesn't have a fully developed voice, and does not sound like a big strong prince or hero. Here are the few requirements:

Must have an ensemble (this year we had 51 kids, and 40 in the ensemble)

Must be appropriate for Middle School

Probably not Disney (My director doesn't want it to be disney as next year will be my last year and we have some talented girls in my grade)

But check out the Jr series provided by MTI. Lots of ideas there'

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
