Up until today, a note on the Tony Award page said that tickets would go on sale to the general public at 9:00 a.m. on May 1. Now the message says, "

Due to limited availability, we are not able to sell tickets to the general public for the 2018 ceremony. Thanks!

The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing."

Anyone have any idea why the change/lack of availability? My daughter and I were going to go this year. Tony Award Tickets

Where on their site does it say this? I went to FAQ's because I didn't see it and it says ticket info will be available in late spring.

One has to imagine that, yes, in a year with as many major commercial properties as this... the room may be a bit more packed than usual.

Yeah, it is. I totally get that I’m not entitled to Tony tickets, but I just found it odd that yesterday they had an on sale date and time listed and today that message is up.

This season was such a bust. Who'd want to go anyways?

Bumping this thread because Im contemplating going this year and have a couple questions if anyone has the 411.

Did they end up selling tickets to the general public after all? I saw a couple posts about rush tickets, so I was a little confused.

Is everything filmed live all in one night? (awards as well as the proformances)

Assuming they do sell Tickets to the public this year, how much do they usually go for?

How did you get to be on stage? That must have been cool.

They had a submission thing on their insta/Facebook asking for fans who wanted to join them. You had to send a pic and say why you loved Great Comet so much. It was very cool. Especially the dress rehearsal and being backstage.

once on this island did something similar last year

They did end up selling tickets last year, a few days after the Tony nods came out. There is no telling if they will sell tickets this year-there are a bunch of factors that determine whether they will have seats to sell. Last year, tickets started at $500, and I think some were over $1000. I've been the last few years-it's a lot of fun, and everything is live, but you wind up watching almost everything on the video screens (a feed of the TV camera edits) due to how massive Radio City is.

It's 9:17 p.m. and I clicked that link above and here's what it said:

Information on purchasing tickets to the 2019 Tony Awards will be available later this spring.

The Tony Awards ceremony will take place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on June 9, 2019.

Last year they also sold student rush tickets the day before the Tony awards at around $110 or so.

I got the student rush tickets last year, which they started selling on the Saturday before the ceremony for $106 each, 2 per student ID. I don't think that's been done before so I'm assuming it was because they didn't sell as well as they had hoped.
