Need help with IBDB redesign concept

Hey guys,

I’m a UX/UI designer currently working on a side project – IBDB.com (Internet Broadway Database) redesign. The goal is to create more intuitive navigation, improve visibility and make the website easier to use.  I built this concept mock-up, which include the landing page, advanced search and one article page. Could you please take a look and give me some feedback? See if you can find the following information:

1.     Current Hamilton cast, and starting date of its second national tour

2.     2017-2018 season Broadway attendance

P.s. This is not related to the Broadway league. It’s just a design exercise that I really want to do. I do hope that their developers think about updating the UI someday though…

I saw what I thought was a link to tour info, but clicking didn't lead me anywhere.

 

Found everything else you asked for.

 

However, the "current" cast of Hamilton did not fully show up, nor did the replacements -- didn't knopw if that was still a WIP

Hi dramamama611! Thanks for replying. Yes the Current / Replacement cast page is work in progress. I just want to show the design idea. In this mock-up, you have Original and Current cast upfront, and quick access to Replacement.

So compared to the current ibdb site, what do you like / dislike about it? and why do you think that? Does the table make it easier to find info?

The tour page is not up yet.. but you can click on the title of the show and see all other productions of this show.

Also, do you mind telling me more about how you use ibdb? Like the most frequently used link, things that bothers you a lot..

I like the new access of the home page....puts everything at fingertips.

 

I use IBDB in lots of ways.....mostly, I use it to check run dates/number of performance.  A little lessor to see what theaters housed shows previously (working my way to having been in every b'way theater.) and certainly to verify or check cast members, usually from  OC.

I couldn't find the start date of the 2nd national tour of Hamilton, but I found the others.  I do like the layout and especially the Advanced Search.
