I was so excited about this. LOVE her voice and she actually looks like Elsa! This article made it seem like it was pretty official, but no announcement ever came from Disney? Does anyone know what ever happened with this?
Aw....honey....I hate to break it to you, but that article is 2 years old, and, was for one of the workshops, I believe. It's not happening in the near future.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

LOL no no yeah I knew they tapped her for the workshop, and that the workshop actors don't always make it to stage. but she seemed like SUCH a perfect fit for the role :/
Yeah, it fell through. Didn't Michael Grandage make some shady remark about Wolfe in an interview after the fact, too? Like how Caissie was "more what they were looking for" in Elsa?
“Murin’s been with the show from the first reading, but Disney couldn’t offer her the part until she was paired with the right Elsa.
‘I needed someone who could act the role, which is difficult, who’s beautiful and on top of that is a belter,’ Grandage says. ‘Usually you have to prioritize. Caissie came in with it all.’”

Well, seems they shoulda kept the old director . . . would have brought some edge to the show, I think. As to Ms. Wolfe . . . I'll just say "not a fan" for a couple of reasons, and leave it at that.
Betsy would've been incredible. The show is horrendous anyway, and while Caissie belts "Let It Go" to the rafters, I honestly thought she was only serviceable in the acting department. I couldn't help but think about Betsy during the show.

well that was a crappy thing to say. LOL. sounds like this Grandage has a massive ego.
What I find so funny is that Betsy was in the first readings too. I'm sure she also recorded demos for the Lopezes as well. I think Betsy is a great actress as well as a great singer. Not to mention she IS beautiful.
I’ve also heard Betsy left on her own accord. I could see her leaving, due to the role of Elsa being dramatically downsized.
Did anyone on the boards get to see the Timbers workshops? Or at least know someone who did? Would really like to know what his version of the show was like.

I don’t think that is necessary Grandage being ‘shadey’ but simply a director talking about the process of casting a particular role from scratch.
Directors want the cast of their choice, it’s entireky natural if you are taking on a project after a development period, that for whatever reason the producers felt needed to go a different way, that you as a director want a cast that, as far as possible comes with no baggage from the previous process.
A director like Grandage, is at the very least going to want a new leading lady, I cannot see a man with his ego agreeing to anything less than that. The quote on casting, to me is him speaking as though he is starting with a blank slate not as though he had to boot the previous actor for not having met the requirements.
