Dinner near Lincoln Center |
We ate at The Smith before seeing My Fair Lady. It was great food, but pretty noisy atmosphere. I'd recommend eating outside if you go there. I've also heard that Rosa Mexicano is great. We didn't want to eat Mexican before a three hour performance.

The Smith, Rosa Mexicano, and P.J. Clarke's are the trifecta. I always go between those three when I'm seeing a show at Lincoln Center.

I often hit Le Pain Quotidien across the street before Lincoln Center shows. It's tucked around the corner from Bed, Bath & Beyond.
Splurge on a reservation at Lincoln Ristorante, the lovely space right next to the Vivian Beaumont under the sloping green roof lawn. Pricey but yummy. Reservations a must, although they've sometimes been able to squeeze in spur-of-the-moment diners at the bar. The group-shouts in unison by the servers at the open kitchen are a show unto themselves.
Lincoln Square Steak is extremely good. It is a bit of a walk .... about 5 blocks. The owner is always there making sure everything is going smoothly and you are enjoying yourself. It has a glitzy almost cheesy Las Vegas vibe, but delicious food. They have a steakhouse menu plus an Italian section with pastas and veal / chicken parm.
As another poster suggested, Lincoln Ristorante is also pretty good. Expensive but extremely convenient. It is a Beautiful restaurant. They filmed a Will Smith movie there a few years ago.

Atlantic Grill is pretty good....especially if you like seafood. The couple of times I've been there, it's been quite busy, but with a quieter more senior crowd.
