Window Card Help Needed! |
They cost that much because it’s rare to find them for sale. Keep stalking eBay. They sell there every once in a while for about $100 or so.
I was also on the lookout for a rare window card and have been searching the past 4 years : ( BUT, one FINALLY came up a few weeks ago on ebay and I got it for $150. I wouldn't have spent that much if it weren't for the fact that they just never showed up anywhere, so I couldn't pass it up. It was the last one I needed for a set and, again, I'd been looking for YEARS.
I'd say keep looking, save the search in ebay to get notifications if one is posted, and honestly just save what money you can to snap one up at a higher price. Have that slush fund ready to pull the trigger if one ever appears. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for your responses! Much appreciated!
I will check Ebay more often than I have been. It upsets me to think I saw In The Heights twice on Broadway and had the opportunity to purchase the window card twice. I only recently started collecting window cards and In The Heights is one of my favorite shows.
Thanks again!

Set up eBay alerts. If you search "in the heights windowcard" right now, and it returns zero results, you see that 'save this search' heart icon? You can set it up so that eBay emails you whenever someone lists an item that matches your saved search term.
You also might want to try a couple of different search terms, as looking at the completed items it looks like people have listed it as "in the heights poster" in the past.
And also - someone once sold a signed In the Heights windowcard for $565?!? Damn.

Thanks so much for the suggestion Anakela. I just set up several eBay alerts using different search terms.
Great idea and I appreciate your suggestion and response!

Oh man, if I had nickel for every time I said that about a window card I ended up buying at a huge markup on eBay....
I'd also recommend looking at the BCEFA Flea Market in September. I've found the craziest, rare, out-of-print window cards just buried in piles.

That’s a reproduction. The Triton repros are quite good, but sounds like that may not be what this person is looking for.
