New Wicked recording?

I didn’t really know where to put this, mostly because all the Wicked threads have been about casting and this doesn’t fit that. On Amanda Jane Cooper and Jackie Burns’ Instagram stories/posts, they’ve been teasing something “secret”. All the pics and videos have been in a recording studio, and Jackie Burns then posted a story of Amanda singing Popular. Then on Amanda’s post, there were many comments asking if a new cast recording was being recorded, many of which Amanda liked. One comment mentioned that it was the 15th Anniversary of the show and it being recorded now would most likely lead to it being released in October (not sure how accurate that could be, but it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary), which again she liked. This has been very long-winded, but I do think they could release a new cast recording in vein of Phantom’s 25th Anniversary cast recording.

Phantom's 25th Anniversary album was only because the concert production was filmed and broadcast in cinemas; it was not a particular stage cast similar to how Jackie and Amanda are in WICKED. More than likely, it's one of those "Out of Oz" video specials that the show does that we may get a music video of later on.

My guess it will be a re-release of the obc, but including all the out of oz recordings and the ones that Jackie and Amanda recorded. They released similar recordings for their 5th and 10th anniversaries.

Both of those theories do make a lot of sense; it most likely is a few Out of Oz videos. It just seems a bit odd that they’re hyping it up so much when it’s most likely just a couple of studio mv’s, but I’m probably setting myself up for dissapointment.

It would be nice to get a cast recording that includes Nessa Rose's song in act 2.  I have read explanations that they didn't want to release it because it was seen as a spoiler, but that is nonsensical because the same "spoiling" information is contained in March of the Witch Hunters, which was on the recording.  So withholding the Nessa Rose song didn't prevent people from learning the spoiler if they listened to the recording before seeing the show.  And now 15 years later worrying about spoilers also seems kind of moot.

I'd like to have a recording of "Defying Gravity" that includes Elphaba's lines:

It's not her
She had nothing to do with it
I'm the one you want
It's me
It's meeeeee!

...as she ascends. That final "meeeeee" note is essential to the power that comes on in the song at that point. It has always irked me that the original cast recording goes straight from "...I hope you're happy my friend" to "So if you care to find me...". From an emotional perspective, that leaves a big hole in the song.
