So I went to the store(s) today to purchase Kylie's new cd, Golden.  No usual retailer was selling it.  Even though, I do not like to purchase cds through Amazon, I felt like I didn't have a choice.  However, before I made my purchase, I searched to see if any of the songs were available to listen to.  To my surprise, I found most of this cd on youtube.  Although I only listened for a minute on each song, I found these songs to be really awful.  I know this was going to be her version of country pop, but I'm not sure what it is. And I'm a fan of country music. I'm curious if anyone else has listened to this and maybe I didn't give it a chance?

I like the lead single, but that is all I have heard so far. My fiancee was listening to it in the shower today, but I didn't pay much attention to it. After reading your post, I listened to a few songs on spotify. It's good driving music, but most of the songs sound very similar.

It's not all that bad, but far from my favorite record she's put out.

I like Dancing a lot, and have listened to it a lot since its release in January. The rest is still growing on me. If it was any other singer, I probably wouldn't play these songs again, but I'll give them a chance to grow on me. The standouts for me are Shelby '68 and Raining Glitter. Those two are definitely worth giving a second shot.

I notice that Kylie is credited as the top-billed songwriter on all of these tracks, which I think is new. They are all co-written, but maybe that's why they're not quite as standout as I would have liked. She seems to be working on a smaller scale these days, no huge record company resources to draw from - she's basically an independent operation, I think. It's a shame her last record didn't do as well as it should have. Kylie's Golden

It's a bad album, I would say one of her worst ever. I wish she would do something a little edgy like she did with Impossible Princess, this is just bad bad bad,

Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

After listening to "Raining Glitter" which Jay provided, I ended up ordering through Walmart.  I don't think I had listened to "Raining Glitter" prior, and I kind of liked it.  Walmart had it for $9.99 and no shipping fee.  I have quite a few Walmart giftcards, so I decided to give it a chance.

The four bonus tracks on the "deluxe" edition aren't up to much, so the standard edition should do you just fine. :)

This version of "Stop Me From Falling", slightly changed for the Spanish-language market, comes with a fun colorful Cuban video!

Jay, As I mentioned earlier, I ended up buying Golden.  I ended up liking it, more than I thought I would.  The production and type of song is what I'm not used to from Kylie.  Although a couple of songs had a country flavor to them, I can't say the entire cd was country inspired.  I'm not sure what she was trying to go for.  I have no regret on my purchase.  I think if you are a fan, she could sing the ABC's and it would still be better than most singers.  BTW, have you listened to a song called No Roots by Alice Merton? Listining to it you would think it was sung by a black diva.  Quite the opposite.
