Important information about the TodayTix referral program
Hello ,
After several years of using our referral program to say “thank you” to our early adopters for helping us grow the TodayTix community in eleven markets across the globe, we have decided to bid farewell to the program, effective today. Going forward, referral codes will no longer be valid, and any accrued account credit will expire on April 30, 2018.
Although the referral program has ended, we continue to be committed to making theater more accessible and affordable, and will be rolling out some exciting new programs in the next few months which will reward our loyal users, making it easier than ever for you (and your friends!) to see the best theater, comedy, dance, opera, and jazz performances.
As always, thanks for being a member of the TodayTix community and for letting us help you unlock the best culture your city has to offer.
Thank god! Now we can all stop getting bombarded with "use MINE!" requests.
I do think it's weird though that the accrued credit will become invalid. That seems unfair. Maybe it's a ploy to get people to spend it quickly, and thereby boost sales.
I agree that I am happy to no longer see the codes posted, but this is a pretty sh*tty move. TodayTix has continued to become less and less appealing to use.

I think ending the code program is totally reasonable step, but more notice should've been given and any accrued credits should be accepted for much longer.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
I have taken good use of the referral program, but won't miss it considering I've now moved from the city and have just a few chances a year to catch shows. Luckily I have a trip planned on April 28th so I figured I'd use my remaining $20 credit then. But when I went into the app to look for tickets my credits have gone. I just looked at them around a week ago and they were there.
There is literally nothing special about them. I saw their employees in the box offices multiple times using Broadway Box codes and other general public codes for tickets. I'd rather use the code and choose my own seat. But most people don't know better. Oh well, good for them for growing their business like they have I guess. Maybe I'm jut bitter I hadn't thought about it first
Warning to everyone who posted their code here on the boards:
After seeing this thread, I went to check how much credit was in my account that I had to use up before the end of the month since I hadn’t received the email mentioned. It showed $0 when just the other day it showed $65. I called TT customer service and was told since my code was found on a message board, they expired my remaining balance because it is against their terms. Rep told me they did a sweep yesterday. Everyone check your accounts.

Wow, I’m sorry. That’s really horrible of them.
I mean, it’s not like they didn’t know these codes were being shared here for the longest time.
This entire situation, ending the program, giving little notice and taking away credits doesn’t pass the smell test.
I love how they emailed me on Thursday telling me I had a $10 credit that I could use until the end of April, and then AFTER sending me that email they ran their sweep and revoked my code. Not cool. I haven't used them in a while, but after this I will not use them again. I remember the good old days where you could actually get good deals on TodayTix with a small service fee, but that is not the case anymore.

The whole thing sounds pretty sketchy. Out of the blue they decide to run a sweep and cancel credits for something that’s been going on for years (and they had to have known it was taking place- I can’t imagjne they had a sudden epiphany this week)? Then they abruptly end the program entirely? Very strange.
Their service was no better than gathering your own discount code and going to the box office, anyway.
Also... even if a stranger used your code... they spent much more than $10 on their ticket... so didn't todaytix still make money?
Their discounts are pretty poor, and I only use the app to remind myself what street certain theatres are on or enter a lottery (although they don't even have many good lotteries on there anymore).

Really disappointed to have lost my referral credits. Any time I bought tickets, I always spent more than my credits. I don’t understand why they would suddenly decide you can’t post your code, especially because everyone using them has to be a new customer. So basically anyone who posted a code brought in dozens of customers, and now today tix decided “thanks for bringing in customers, your credits are gone!” Will only use the app for lotteries now.
They don't make a lot of $ per ticket.....they still have to give the majority of the $ to the production. Which is why their discounts aren't that great: they match the ones that are out there. So, bottom line, that 10 bucks comes FROM their profit....not leaving much left over, I'm sure.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
