Kacey Musgraves as Jenna in Waitress? Yay or nay

Can't say yay or nay, for Jenna, but a huge talent, with a great voice.  I didn't discover her until her second cd Pageant Material.  She actually has a new cd coming out tomorrow.  She is currently touring with Little Big Town, so not sure if she has time for Broadway.

If one has to do a google search to ascertain who she is, then she’s not the big name that some are making her out to be.

She won two Grammys from her first cd.  Best album and best single.  Pretty good for a  newbie.  She was also nominated the same year for writing Miranda Lambert's diva single Mama's Broken Heart.

As someone who listens to country music, I think she has a totally pleasant voice but I don't know if she has the vocal power to be a great Jenna. I was thinking more Jennifer Nettles or Carrie Underwood. Possibly Jana Kramer.

She will be opening for Little Big Town for their Breakers tour throughout April and May.  She will be in St Augustine, Florida on May 4. (I have tickets)  She doesn't start opening for Harry Styles until June.

What an unknown: only appeared on Colbert last night, the Today Show this morning, and is opening up for one of the biggest bands in country and then one of the hottest pop artists alive.

I'd definitely buy tickets, but I don't know how many tickets she'd be able to see outside of the LGBTQ community that is also into Country Music.

Shes an openly liberal and political active singer, in a genre where political discussion is taboo. Unfortunately that has clearly hurt her career, as her second album sold less a fifth of her first album despite being critically lauded.

Who said she was a loser? People can sell out venues and no one outside of that venue knows or cares who they are, happens all the time anymore.

I absolutely love Kacey and upon first listen her new album sounds fabulous but I don't think she has the vocal range for Jenna, unless she's hiding something...
