Posted: 3/28/18 at 10:09pm

hi guys! this is indeed an sos because my shrek audition is tomorrow evening and my oliver audition is saturday. I need two songs for each. shrek I am really going for any of the "ensemble" sugar plum fairy, ponnochio, dragon...I picked out "Brand New You" from 13 and "Theres a Fine, Fine Line" also thought about "I See The Light" from Tangled in hopes of scoring Fiona u/s, but are either of those good choices? I could really use some feedback and new suggestions..same for Oliver, I have no idea what to sing, and for that show, I am going for Nancy. Please help!!! Thanks in advance. :)

OK....I know this is too late to actually help, but for the future:

You shouldn't be learning new songs for every audition. In a day or two, just how good can that be?

What you need to do is work on a repertoire. You need a collection of songs that you are always working on and keeping fresh.  Ten to twelve songs to start.  THIS way, you only consider what you already KNOW and figure out the best choice for each audition.  Same thig with monologues.  Learn and perfect them without a specific audition...just like you would prepare for a performance.  That is, after all, what every audition is: a performance.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
