I was hoping someone would be able to clarify the cursed child “showbill” instead of “playbill” is it a different company? I thought show bill was out and done years ago. Are there any other broadway shows that have showbills? Thanks

Showbill is now owned by Playbill. It is the imprint used for Broadway shows that want a customized program, not the generic articles and advertising that come from the monthly published Playbill edition. By using a different name, no advertisers can question why their content is missing if they should go to see a show using the Showbill name,

It is most famously used for Disney shows as to cut out the alcohol ads.

Side note, this must be the most common thread on BWW.
