Run time is, in reality, closer to 2 hours. And there was an unplanned “intermission” when the sound system malfunctioned about 30 minutes before the end and needed to be reset.

Much of the material is strong. But I think I have a lot of the same critiques and suggestions that the reviews from La Jolla had. Still thinking about it though. And that’s not a bad thing.

Sounds promising! Can you elaborate with out giving away spoilers? How was Daphne Ruben-Vega?

My thoughts remain pretty much this: http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/arts/la-et-cm-miss-you-like-hell-review-20161114-story.html

Theyve clearly cut or reworked a lot (some to the detriment of the show, because there’s a lot of woefully underused talent up there). But ultimately, it ends up being a show where you get emotional largely because the actors are working with inherently emotional topics (sometimes presented in a pretty manipulative way), not because the show has actually earned the emotion.

I really hate to say anything bad about Daphne Rubin-Vega. So I’ll just say, her acting is excellent.

That said, I also loathed Broadway darling Come From Away, with many of the same critiques I had of this. So if you disagree with me about that one, take my opinion with a grain of salt. I didn’t hate this. But I feel a little ripped off.

See it if you like "collecting" all the average to below average musicals the public puts on every year, besides Ham and Fun Home. Some great songs, some unnecessary ones. I agree with annang about the characters and plot not being strong enough to earn the emotion.

Saw this today and was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed myself. The acting was really excellent. This isn’t a perfect show - but the mother/daughter relationship is really at the heart here. And Daphne Rubin Vega is really a great actress. The daughter was great too.

Wondering is this is worth seeing with the limited amount of time I have to see shows...
What’s the running time?

According to the website, it's an hour and 45 minutes without an intermission. And it seema like they just extended, too.

A lot of the Public shows have Sunday evening shows, so that may help you add it to an otherwise full schedule?

Saw this today and actually really enjoyed it. I agree with others who said some of the supporting cast aren’t used nearly enough. The big focus is definitely on Gizel and Daphne who are both excellent. I don’t know if this will see a broadway stage but I imagine if it does it will be restaged. If you have a chance I would say go see it.

I decided to go back and see this again before it closed Sunday...although not a perfect show, I really enjoyed this again. And I saw on Twitter that the cast is going into the recording studio this week for an album. Sorry, I can’t link from my phone.

I hope there’s more to see from this piece...

I really enjoyed this as well.  A lot more heart and better storytelling than most stuff on Broadway.

I enjoyed this musical very much and I hope it finds life in colleges and regional theaters.

I don't understand . . . what made you feel "ripped off"?  It kind of denotes something was done to fool you, or you were tricked into something.  Did you read reviews before you went?  Not that you have too, but it may have help keep you from feeling taken advantage of, if that is your issue with the production.
