Hamilton cancellation line?

I’m going to New York this summer and I’m hoping to get in the Hamilton cancellation line and hopefully get tickets. I’ve seen some people say they can walk up to the box office and just get cancellation tickets each for $229 two days or the day before the show. Is that an option rather than standing in line the day of the show and just hoping you get in?

I think much of the success was due to the traditionally "slow" Jan/Feb season. Things have picked up since mid-February. Unless you're going to a Wednesday matinee, your chances may be fairly limited for a weekend show. You may have some luck with a weekday show, but always a bit of a chance. Good luck, it still is a can't miss show!

That won't be likely during summer, especially because that's when everyone is off and the line gets long and shows sell out further in advance. Just save your $ and buy a ticket in advance..

Around July 4th could be a good time to try it. I got one on July 4th weekend. I think it tends to be a slower holiday weekend!

Even at the 6 and a half hours I spent last summer the cancellation line was well worth it.

I would imagine in the summer it will not be "just walk up" but the wait will be shorter than last year, probably in the 3-4 hour range. But that's just my estimate.
