New Andrew Lloyd Webber announcement |
Actually, something to mark the 50th anniversary of Joseph may not be so far-fetched. Webber's licensing arm, The Musical Company, is promoting the anniversary in a big way, teaming up with the Educational Theatre Association to grant five deserving schools a free license (no-cost rental and royalty agreement) to do the show, and as far back as 2015, Webber was considering a new West End production to celebrate.
Unless the announcement is related to Unmasked, the forthcoming NBC retrospective, JCS Live, or new material, Joseph is actually the safest bet in the OP.

I saw Profumo Affair and was bitterly disappointed but I am a fan of his big female leads.

Based on reports in another thread, he was very hesitant to say anything about LND coming to Broadway during his Town Hall appearance with Glenn Close. Doesn't seem likely.

Coincidentally, just yesterday I received an email from Broadway Direct, with a link to a survey. In a nutshell, the survey asked me if I had seen PHANTOM, and asked how interested I would be in seeing LOVE NEVER DIES, if it came to Broadway.

Yes, I do think he's got it in him, even if Stephen Ward wasn't it. Though I did see it and enjoyed it. I did not think it was a "west end" or "broadway" show, though. I'd like to see it tried again with better staging in a smaller fringe setting (like his Woman in White was).
That said, with the big 50 year mark for JOSEPH, I wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do with that show... or a B'way date for LOVE NEVER DIES.

And to confuse things even more, his proper title is "The Right Honourable The Lord Lloyd-Webber," even though he retired from the House of Lords last year, and even though his surname is not actually hyphenated.
"Webber was recently interviewed and said that he has some exciting news coming hopefully in the next month. Any thoughts?"
He's going to testify in front of the Grand Jury for Mueller, and his testimony will nail Trump in money laundering.
Patti LuPone in Evita? That's pretty much impossible.
I was wondering if he felt he would ever have a hit after women in white and lnd . And school of rock gave him piece of mind

I really wanted to see Stephen Ward and was hoping it would come over to the States (I loved "Human Sacrifice" ). Same with The Woman in White.
He was asked in a recent interview if there was a new musical in the pipeline and he said he was working on something but did not want to announce anything yet because the plot involves real people who are still alive and he feels compelled to obtain their approval before going any further. So, perhaps the announcement will be about that project.
