Just picked up a ticket for tomorrow's matinee. Seeing HP Part 2 at 8 so not sure if I'll be able to report back immediately, but I will definitely try to get back and give my report.
Saw it on Wednesdsy evening. Was waiting for a thread about it.
My thoughts... Well it is not a comedy but has some comedic moments that will work better once the cast settles in.
Constance Schulman is worth more than triple the amount of admission! She kind of carries the show and is fantastic.
As advertised, this is not so much us hearing the town's side of what happened. It is more how they react and are affected by it.
Ethan Durbin as Bobbie is excellent although he really isn't a major part of the play until the second and third act. In Act 3 he left me breathless.
Hard to talk about a lot of it without giving things away. There were people who were not happy with the ending. I was fine with it.
It captures a Midwestern/Western town well. I am certain it is stil like this in a lot of Midwestern towns. And it is also timely and relevent. There is a lot of movement around the theater. Seats are on three sides with action taking place in the middle and far end for the most part.
A bit of confusion in the beginning time line wise and I think Darla is speaking in front of a camera for a documentary. It isn't really clear.
Worth seeing and i would see it again near the end of the run. JMO
