Mine has gotta be the Ethel Merman cameo in Airplane! where she sings “Everything’s Comin Up Roses”. God I love that movie

ALL the Broadway references peppered in dialogue on NBC TV’s WILL & GRACE, including all the Broadway talent who appeared on episodes: Chita Rivera & Michelle Lee playing a lesbian couple; Bernadette Peters playing Karen Walker’s sister with a stunted leg; Patti LuPone as herself; Victor Garber as a popular actor-turned-hotel clerk; Ben Platt as a young millennial with “daddy issues”, etc.

The episode of Growing Pains when they go see La Cage Aux Folles and Kirk Cameron's character Mike talks about all the attractive female dancers and then has a gay panic moment when he finds out they're men. At the time I thought he was acting, but clearly Kirk needed no acting skills to come across as a homophobic nincompoop.

Also shout out to the entirety of The Newsroom which had theater references in almost every episode.

War is hell.  I love that reference too.  Lately i've been loving the references in Crazy Ex-girlfriend, like the parodies of "Ya Got Trouble" and "Do You Hear The People Sing", as well as Patty LuPone's performance as the rabbi in "Remember That We Suffered".

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, specifically the Patti LuPone cameo
