While I think the announcement is “breaking news” for sure, there are zero names. Nobody even close to reaching the radar of anybody caring on here.
This will be a massive flop.
Also, what a weird way of saying "Please help us cast this one role!"
Reading this, I kept thinking, "this sounds absolutely ridiculous," and then I saw the name Ken Davenport and it all made sense.
I also like that this sentence: "An earlier, developmental staging of Gettin' The Band Back Together opened at New Jersey's George Street Playhouse in 2013, this is what the critics had to say:" is followed by cast bios, not reviews. Also that there's no info on the composer/lyricist, other then his name.
WayTooBroadway said: "How is this not "BREAKING" to you, BroadwayWorld? It seems like every other casting announcement has been branded as such.
Asking and wondering."
Probably because no one gives a s**t?
newintown said: "Has the Belasco, a noted prestige house, ever had a less prestigious-sounding tenant?"
Well, I don't know if Kathy Griffin would ever be considered "prestigious" --- but at least her show was entertaining and funny as hell!
It's the "BREAKING" aspect of it. Casting announcements are never "BREAKING" news.

It's not news if no one cares about it.

I predict this will be a short-lived flop of historic proportions.
I'm confused. Why were some of these actors in the press preview performance and this photo but not in the casting announcement? Are they being replaced?

I didn't enjoy watching the videos but then the audio was terrible. I don't think the show will be any good but I do think that footage doesn't show off their singing well at all.
Well 'Grown Ups 2" took about $250 million with about 2.5 on IMDB so underestimating the public's taste isn't necessarily a problem.

I love Mitch Jarvis but am cringing at that preview clip. The music is dull as dishwater and uncreative. Sad.
Makes me wish Forbidden Broadway was still around. Their parody would be better than whatever this is shaping up to be.
