Hey all!
I'm going to be in the city next week. I'm wondering if there are any Broadway gift shops or stores I could visit? I go to the one in Schubert Alley all the time, and didn't know if there were any others. Thanks!

There is another good one near there. I think it's across the street from The Majestic. Maybe a few doors down from Sardi's? I wish I could be more help. It's been almost a year since my last trip.

It’s called Dress Circle and it’s on the south side of W 44 just east of 8th Avenue, next to the St James (Frozen) and across from the Majestic (Phantom). You should also try the Drama Book shop at 250 W. 40th. The various gift shops along 8th Avenue have Broadway souvenirs here and there.

The store on W. 44th Street is called Theatre Circle, not Dress Circle. It is affiliated by One Shubert Alley.

One Shubert Alley is their boutique outlet.

Theatre Circle is their full store and carries more merchandise including merchandise of older/long gone shows.

Theatre Circle is one of my must-visits every time I'm in New York. I've built quite a nice collection of window cards and programs thanks to them, and their bookshop in the backroom can't be beat when it comes to scripts.

I find Theatre Circle very limited in selection and highly marked up. It’s a store for tourists with no common sense to look online or by at the theatre. Plus most of their staff are pretty rude. I’d rather shop online. Drama Book Shop on 40th has the best selection of scripts and books

Triton Gallery on 8th Ave between 44th and 43rd is around the corner from the Theatre Circle store, too.

HAMILTON has its own gift store.

You MUST visit the Drama Book Shop on 40th Street.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

VERY, with the owner of the place being the absolute worst of the lot. He's a living, breathing cliche of a "b*tchy old queen".

Thanks everyone! I've been so many times, and I can't believe I haven't checked out Theatre Circle! I spend hours and hours in Drama Book Shop every time I'm in the city. Can't wait to be back!

I ask him if I can buy the original POTO poster (hanging up high to the right when you walk in) EVERYTIME I go in there, just to annoy him. LOL I always get a bitchy, "it's NOT for sale"....hahaha

The amount of times that man has told me different things are "NOT for sale", I could open a store! I liked the Theatre Circle location that was on the ground floor, surrounded by glass in the Marriott Marquis (that is no longer there?). I think it had everything I wanted, both current and closed shows, organized well, employees seemed happy, etc.

It's not specifically Broadway but Strand Books by Union Square is my favorite used bookstore in the world and has a big drama/film selection. Definitely worth a visit.

It's not a store but there's a neat Leonard Bernstein exhibit at the Lincoln Center library, if you're looking for free theatre-related stuff during the day.

I like One Schubert Alley better than Theatre Circle. Nicer people.

Triton Gallery is a must. I never got to their 9th avenue location. Went to their new one on 8th. It is very small. Had a bit of a problem getting in but it was the first day they opened. Hopefully they have the door buzzer thing solved. The guy who runs it is very nice and makes you feel very welcome. It is window card heaven!
Just give the world Love.

Is Corky St. Clair's memorabilia shop still around? He used to carry a good assortment of entertainment memorabilia, including some Broadway stuff. I got some nice Betty Buckley bobbleheads (in Norma getup) there a while ago.
