Broadway is one word. Why BWW? |
To me, I think of it as BW=Broadway. BWW=Broadway World

well "Broadway" collapses what was originally two words, each with its own meaning. And of course as a single word it has two syllables. And of course acronyms are not subject to any rules.
Maybe solve world hunger first and then get back to us.

That's not grammar.
For the OP: The abbreviation is phonetic more than anything, IMO. And "BW" is too ambiguous.

Yes, that's true. It's orthography, of course. But I think you might have missed my joke. :)
It's so you can pronounce it "Bow-Wow-Wow" in a pinch; no shorter than Broadway World, but psychologically it feels much more compact.
