I've spoken to some of my friends who went and they say it's a mixed bag. There are certain parts that are really good, but that the rest is kind of a jumbled mess. Def not Lion King.

I enjoy "Monster" but the shout outs to "No Good Deed" and "March of the Witch Hunters" are as blatant as the "Defying Gravity" shout outs in "Let It Go."
If "Wicked" ever gets around to making a film I wonder if critics will be writing that it's derivative of "Frozen."
BroadwayConcierge said: "Wow, that “Monster” video has me actually excited for this now for the first time. Caissie sounds superb."
That video was extremely well made and Caissie was such a force.
I wonder if that song was written for her or Betsy. Anyone know? It sounds like it fits Caissie like a glove, but I couldn’t stop myself from imagining Betsy singing it.
Not a sold out preview? For Disney's biggest show of all time? Yikes.
The show is basically sold out for months - rest assured this will be a mega-hit. If there are tickets available they were probably released at the last-minute (e.g., they might have held them).

Per this post by greenifyme2, "Had a smile on my face the entire first act. This works so much better in a small house. It really drowned in that space in Denver. The sound is spot on for a first preview- very full.
People around me are WOWed.
The staircase is a projection.
No improvement to Olaf."

How is the renovated St. James Theatre? Based on photos, it doesn't look like a whole lot has changed aesthetically (certainly not on Harry Potter's magnitude.)
Low on battery, can post more later. To answer the questions and items people have been talking about:
No real castle, just a lot of projections and sparkly snowflakes.
No narrator.
St. James still looked very much the same, I think they may have reupholstered the seats, but that's it.
As for the show, it's meh, one big, giant expensive meh that will run for years. Best comparison I can think of is Aladdin, if Aladdin didn't have Friend Like Me.
Yeah, figured it was all one big meh. What a shame. Broadway is something like a combo of Vegas and Orlando now. What garbage. I cannot wait until the real shows so the Tony Awards have something to actually consider.
