Our Dear Dead Druglord just got a rave from the Times. I'm also looking forward to The Underlying Chris, also at 2nd Stage.

Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish. No question. And Little Shop of Horrors if you can get a ticket.

Agree with all the comments on Yiddish Fiddler but New World Stages also has some good offerings in Jersey Boys, Rock of Ages and The Play That Goes Wrong.

I heard Scotland, PA was good but could use a bit of work (though it's still in previews so it might be different by October).  Seared and Bella Bella are also on my list to check out.

If you have a strong stomach, you could go see Our Dear Dead Drug Lord. I think it crosses the line into being sensational just for the sake of being “edgy”, but most critics - except Sarah Holdren and a few others - disagree.

Could someone please tell me in spoiler text, if there is any animal abuse? I’m kind of sensitive to animal stuff-particularly dog stuff.  I want to see this, but I need to prepare myself if there is animal abuse.  Thanks.

they kill a cat, but you don't see any of it - there's a cat in a box, sound effect of cat meowing, a girl reaches her hands into the box and there's a 'snap' sound and the meowing stops. That's all that I remember on animal stuff. There is something later that is SUPER bloody, though, but not animal related.

If you've seen enough Broadway shows, see Forbidden Broadway. It's a hoot.

Musicals: Fiddler On The Roof --Yiddish; if you can get a ticket--Little Shop (I haven't seen it but have heard good things)

Plays: If you want a laugh--The Play That Goes Wrong; great performances all around? I'd highly recommend Seared at MCC.

I saw the first preview of SEARED. I absolutely loved it. I would definitely recommend it, but they do cook on stage, so don't go with an empty stomach!

What about Hero’s of the Fourth Turning at Playwrights Horizon?

curious about this one and don’t see a thread about it?

If you enjoy and know Broadway musicals, definitely see Forbidden Broadway: Next Generation. The actress who plays Verdon (Jenny Lee Stern) is hysterical, and it's a fun night out.
