So I watched videos on the new guy playing Evan Hansen. He's pretty good. I just can't imagine anyone doing it like Ben Platt. He was perfect for the roll. Maybe this guy will be really good though! He looks good. I wasn't sure how I felt about Noah Galvin though... Something about just doesn't click with Evan. But I'm waiting to see a video or something on this new guy! Thoughts on him or anyone who has played Evan?

But you can't or shouldn't judge based on a few videos....they barely show the scope at which any actor can delve.

This "new guy" just left the Tony Award winning Hello, Dolly! He's hardly an unknown.

If you go to the new page, lots of peeps are discussing his performance.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

also, I know ill be flamed for this but whatever, I prefer Noah Galvin over Ben Platt tbh.

I feel that Noah had a very technical singing voice, he didn't add the necessary emotions needed for Evan. He is a good singer though, I cannot argue with that. I was not impressed with his acting skills and thought that his chemistry with Laura was absolutely horrible. They looked like preschool lovers, or even siblings. also, the guy is plain obnoxious, but I don't let that affect my review of his performance.
