Is it wrong for me to hate the people begging for free tickets outside of theaters as much as I do? Because I really really hate them.
Funny thing is, I rarely run into the one woman who had a documentary made about her (I know her name. Just refuse to invoke it). It’s always a bunch of other people, specifically this one white-haired older guy.
I will admit that I have been the recipient of a free extra ticket from a theatergoer in a jam once because her friend wasn't going to make it. (It was JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR in 2012).
However, some of these people go out of their way to try and get your ticket from you rather aggressively, as in they don't understand the word "NO" the first time.

I've seen it happen quite a few times where someone will give away a free ticket to a vulture. Usually when they walk by me asking, I always say, "It's not sold out. You can buy a ticket a the box office." They glare......and I love it!
I just don't understand how anyone would just give away a free ticket, to someone who thinks they are entitled to it like the vultures?

What if you don't ask for the free ticket but you are still given one? Do you hate them too?
The term 'vulture' is incorrect because it's not like these people are looking to eat the remains of something that is dead & pick over the carcass (like another subgroup of audience can be interested in?) These culture addicts are wanting to attend the live best events out there that if they could afford, I'm sure they would buy a ticket to - if they had the means? (I'm sure you can't put everyone in the same box.) Must be unpleasant for them to ask. If you were a producer, you may get away with being more inclined to despise these characters, but otherwise - a little empathy is called for here, I think, & definitely less judgement.

I guess I've been doing it wrong then. Instead of grabbing a steak at Outback, I should have been standing outside of Ruth's Chris bugging the crap out of people to buy me dinner and acting indignant when they refused. You don't like vultures? OK, how about leeches? They want something everyone else has paid for but don't feel they should have to. That's their whole approach to life. If you think they'd happily pay for it if only they could afford it, you have zero insight into their mindset. You want to have empathy? Have it for people begging for food or a warm place to sleep on a 12 degree night. Begging to see Bette in Hello Dolly? Yeah, not so much.
