I'm excited but just find it a bit pricey. I plan to wait to hear what their rush/lottery policy is and go from there. At the moment, I'm more excited to see BOYS IN THE BAND.

I'm seeing it in Berkeley, and bought tickets last month to see it in May. If I was going to New York, I would be excited about the Broadway production too, from the good things I've heard.

But it's been a long time since I've seen it, and I don't know if I'm an exception. (I did get less expensive tickets, although the Berkeley Rep theater only holds 600 people, so there aren't really bad seats.)

Angels in America is, quite possibly, my favorite play of all time, but I so thoroughly disliked the NT Live broadcast of this production that I will definitely be giving this production a pass.

I loved the original production so much but was quite disappointed with the first play in this production when I saw it in London, although I thought Perestroika was pretty terrific. The first play lacked energy and I didn’t care for the way that the Angel was done. Normally I love Denise Gough but I found her oddly underpowered. That said, I thought Nathan Lane, Susan Brown and James McArdle outshone every Cohn, Hannah and Louis I’d ever seen (I’ve seen 3 previous stagings plus the film). Would see it again for Beth Malone.

Do we know when Beth Malone takes over full time? Hoping to see her when I go mid May.

Is she definitely taking over full time? I read that she was doing every Wednesday.

^She is indeed an alternate.

I saw the NTLive screening and loved it. Have my tix for May and I couldn't be more excited.

The NYT today shares info on this new book, The World Only Spins Forward: The Ascent of ‘Angels in America.  It sounds quite good.
