This is absolutely devastating. I can't even begin to describe what Broadway the Golden Age means to me. I'm so sorry for your loss of your friend, Jordan. His work has truly meant so much to me and so many of us. And I we all owe him a huge debt of gratitude for recording and preserving so many treasures of the American theatre.
So well written Jordan, and my sincere condolences to you and to the Broadway community. I am stunned that he is gone - I cherished his work, and mourn the loss of such a treasure. RIP

Jordan, I'm so sorry about your friend's passing. I loved his Golden Age documentary and view it often. This is absolutely awful news. My sympathies to all his family and friends.
If there is someone who deserves to have theatre lights dimmed in his honor, it would be Rick McKay.
Lovely words, Jordan. I’m sorry for your loss of a dear friend and for the theater community’s loss of of such a dedicated researcher and historian.
Not many people do what he did, but his work and effort is so important. His loss will be felt by many.
Here is Rick McKay at his very best, with the divine Marian Seldes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSSDGpS47JY
