BroadwayCon 2018 Discounts and Expectations |
I don't know anything about discounts, but passes in general were less expensive than the first 2. I'm not going to comment about attendance because I have no clue yet. Also want to wait to see what happens tomorrow with new changes to see if it was worth it or not.

I also read many feel this years schedule is "scattered" and that Playbill is not participating this year. Do you think there will be a high attendance rate this year? I have never gone, but like many have been contemplating it...if the price is right."
I have never been to one b 4 but am going this year. What does it mean that the schedule is scattered? I wonder why Playbill.com is no longer involved.

Yes... ok great.. thank you!
I thought the opening was interesting because it was more intimate than in years past. But, I loved hearing Betsy Wolfe sing Meadowlark and Kelli O' Hara sang Pure Imagination. And Billy Porter sang On Broadway. There were less people involved, but I'm glad with what we got versus a lame skit. And the new venue for main stage was a step up from last year where you could basically give up seeing anything from the back. Even with the side screens, I could see the stage and not wonder who was up there.
Only part that was not entirely enjoyable was the Saturday night YouTube party. Only because I didn't really care to watch random people sing and dance on stage. Though, it was humorous to see a clip from The Life show up and everyone left the stage because they didn't know it.
So, I still will probably go next year. I can see why people wouldn't want to go, and that's fine. But, I really don't think it is the disaster people make it out to be. And I'm not just saying that to be nice.
The YouTube party was hilarious to me, although maybe it was the lack of sleep. I do have to give many many kudos to Ben Cameron for his infinite patience and amazing ability to keep a party going.
I also appreciated the smaller opening and closing ceremonies. I know a lot of it was to save money, but it was also a lot more reliable to use beloved songs and performers than to create a new plot and score that was shaky at best.
I'll have more to say about this weekend when I'm coherent. It was my third time going for all three days.
