I imagine it’s WAITRESS, as she was originally supposed to play Jenna I believe last year (as she said on Sirius XM), but the timing didn’t work.

Irene Malloy? I'd be down for that part becoming a pop-star fill in for audiences so top tier theater actress continue to get cast appropriately as Dolly.

I read this on the bus and fully gay shrieked. As much as I would love for it to be Jenna, because honestly she deserves that role, and I know she'd surprise all the naysayers, I sorta wish it was Irene now. Or a new dance heavy part in a new revival, which I know isn't happening. Because girl can DANCE. Whatever it is, I cannot wait. I've been waiting for Miss McPhee to make her debut for years. I'm so excited!!!

Can't see her as Irene, but possibly as Jenna.  Personally, I find her acting to be painful, however.

Jenna would actually be a great role for her.

But c'mon, obviously it's HIT LIST guys.

I feel like if it was rocktopia, we would have already known. They had a preview of it last week(?) and she wasn’t involved with it.

Jenna seems right, was she supposed to replace Betsy l but the timing didn’t work? She’s be great and it would help with post sara grosses. I wonder how long she’ll be with the show, though.

Is she really that much of a "name"?    I can't see her bringing in huge numbers.

Obviously the opinion of who is a name or not varies from person to person, but she's the female lead on a CBS show currently in its fourth season. Plus she's had enough of a singing and acting career to make this feel more like just "casting" than "stunt casting," so I don't think the expectation would be for a huge box office bump.

My first thought was Chicago, but I guess Waitress make sense, too.

Do you think she's going to leave Scorpion early this season for Broadway? They usually finish filming in April...

"Waitress" makes the most sense, especially if she was already supposed to take over the role. Though "Chicago" does celebrity casting literally all the time so that's also totally possible.

Betsy Wolfe wasn't a name and the show did fine.

I could totally see her as  Roxie or Velma.  Amra FW is in the show till March 11, while Bianca Marroquin is Roxie until April 28th.  By the way, someone mentioned that he "gay shrieked".  How exactly does that sound like?  : )

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Scorpion's season finale is April 23, so filming should be wrapped earlier than that.

That's a joke, right? She's not even REMOTELY the right voice type for that role.

I think that she would be exceptional as Carole King in Beautiful.

Scorpion is on the bubble and could very well be cancelled, their ratings have continued to drop more and more, and now near the end of their 4th season, it's enough to end it and shove it off into syndication. (And she's already dated and dumped the lead of that show, so she's not tied down.) So we could get Katharine for a longer stint on Broadway.
